Although I strive to be as impartial as possible, I have certain views and sometimes those views colour what I write here. With that in mind, let me be up front about my political views and involvement.
I don't like to label myself this way or that way, but I'm undeniably left of centre with a tino rangatiratanga streak. I think Maori should control things Maori and I believe the Treaty is the most important piece of New Zealand's constitution and a guide for how things should be done.
In 2011 I voted for the Green Party and Mana's Annette Sykes in Waiariki.
I've also staffed for Labour's Parekura Horomia and Rino Tirikatene.
At the moment I'm studying law at Victoria University, right opposite the Parliamentary precinct and much of the public service.
